City Training Services are looking to recruit for our popular dental apprenticeship which is due to commence from February 2010.  

Dental students will attend a full time course at Leeds Dental Institute for 18 months. 

The qualification is accredited by the National Exam Board for Dental Nurses and City & Guilds. The aim of the programme is to provide a structured course of study covering knowledge and clinical competence in the Dental Nursing Occupational standards. Students will complete a portfolio of evidence and pass an assessment for the VRQ to gain the qualification. 

On qualifying you will gain the NVQ Oral Health Care Dental Nursing level 3 & level 4 award in Dental Nursing (VRQ) Vocational Related Qualification. You will also:

- Be recognised by the dental profession as a qualified dental nurse

- Be eligible to achieve post certification qualifications

- Be able to register on the Statutory Register with the General Dental Council (GDC) 

Applicants should be 16 years or over with a minimum of 2 GCSE’s (grade C or above) preferably in English Language and Maths. The hours are 37 ½ per week Monday to Friday. Each week time will be spent in the classroom to gain underpinning knowledge and also work on portfolios.
