Commercial Training Courses

Our Commercial Courses offer a unique package of training solutions and support for employers. Our dedicated Business Development Team will explore opportunities with businesses to offer the right information, advice, guidance and skills solutions.

Are you a Small to Medium Enterprise (SME)?
You may be eligible for WYCC European Social Fund funding if participants are 18+, in training or employment, have the right to work in the UK. Businesses must operate within the Leeds City Region. Funding of up to 40% may be available. Conditions and eligibility will be discussed with your Skills Advisor following your enquiry. Contact the Business Development Team today to find out if you’re eligible.

Our Courses

18th Edition Wiring Regulation – This course is offered over a 3 week period with a total of 7 evening sessions.

January Cohort

Week 1 – Monday 14th & Tuesday 15th January – 6-9pm

Week 2 – Monday 21st & Tuesday 22nd January – 6-9pm

Week 3 Monday 28th, Tuesday 29th & Wednesday 30th January – 6-9pm

February Cohort

Week 1 – Monday 25th & Tuesday 26th February – 6-9pm

Week 2 – Monday 4th & Tuesday 5th March – 6-9pm

Week 3 – Monday 11th, Tuesday 12th & Wednesday 13th March – 6-9pm

2391 Inspection and Testing

This course leads to the City & Guilds 2391-52 Level 3 Award in Inspection and Testing. (The course replaces the City & Guilds 2394/5 qualifications).

The course is aimed at practicing electricians who wish to gain qualifications in initial verification as well as periodic inspection, testing and reporting and is intended for experienced electrical installers who have previous training and experience of inspection and testing.

All the above sessions will run from 6-9pm.

Coaching & Mentoring

This course is aimed at those providing coaching and mentoring in the workplace. Topics will include;
– Foundation coaching skills
– Training Needs Analysis Design, Development, Delivery and Assessment
– Critical Evaluation.

Customer Service

This Level 3 course will provide individuals with a qualification which covers;
– The Principles of Customer Service
– Effective Communication
– Making Improvements to Customer Service.

Dignity in the Workplace

This course is aimed at all staff regardless of whether they have any line management responsibility. This course provides everyone with the skills and tools to ensure everyone is treated fairly and without discrimination within the workplace. Topics will include;
– Employment Law
– Understanding Behaviours
– Challenging and Reporting
– Recognising Behaviours
– Key Skills and Behaviours for success and equality.

Effective Written & Verbal Communications

This course is aimed at employers who are looking to enhance their written and verbal communication skills. Topics will include;
– Business Letter Writing
– Reports
– Structuring and Delivering Presentations.

Leading & Managing a Team

This course will provide managers with the fundamental skills to effectively manage a team. Topics will include;
– Leading and Managing a Team
– Motivating the Team to Maximize Performance
– Target Setting.

Planning for Change

This course is aimed at individuals managing or leading a team. It will provide employees with the skills to better understand, support and manage their people through change within the business. Topics will include;
– The journey of change
– Barriers to change
– Your organisation and the people within it
– Planning change
– Communicating change
– Influencing change
– Implementing Change.

Presentation & PowerPoint Skills

This course is aimed at anyone wishing to improve their presenting skills, it will provide employees with the skills and techniques to effectively deliver presentations. Topics will include;
– Developing a unique style
– Overcoming nerves
– Using support materials
– Effective planning.

Project Management

This course will allow managers without prior project management experience understand the most important project management skills. You will obtain key techniques to support you in successfully managing projects. Topics will include;
– The role and importance of a project manager
– Common project management processes
– Effective use of Gantt Charts
– Risk Management Techniques
– How to plan, monitor and ensure the success of your project and future projects.

Safeguarding

This course at anyone working with or around children within any setting. Topics will include;

– Legislation and The Children’s Act 2004
– Understand how to safeguard and protect children, young people and practitioners
– How to respond to evidence
– How to raise and respond to concerns

Employees will gain A Level 3 Unitized Qualification – Understand How to Safeguard the Welfare of Children and Young People.
