It was a case of hair today, gone tomorrow for kind-hearted staff at a City Training Services.
Five members of the team put themselves forward to ‘baldly’ go – in aid of a good cause.
Dominic Scott, Tom Hughes and John Valentine had their heads totally shaved while Andy Atkinson and Nic Cockroft had their legs waxed to raise money for two charities – Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie.
The fundraising event was organised by recruitment coordinator Dominic, for whom the charities hold a special significance.
“I have lost both my cousin and my best friend from university to cancer so the charities are very close to my heart,” said Dominic.
“Sadly, I am not alone in being impacted by cancer. Almost everyone you speak to knows someone who has been affected by it.
“I am very grateful to all my colleagues for supporting the fundraising, whether by agreeing to have their head shaved or legs wax, or by making donations.”
The shaving and waxing took place at CTS’ offices in Chapel Street, Little Germany. Staff from across the business watched on and cheered as the trio succumbed to the clippers. Some colleague took a more hands-on approach to the fundraising by making a generous donation for the privilege of being able to rip off a wax strip from the legs of Andy Atkinson, business development manager, or Nic Cockroft, employer engager.
The waxing materials and equipment were kindly supplied by the beauty department at Bradford College.
