|Job Description:||Based in the Library, Library Assistants provide front line support to learners and staff in the access and use of Library, including ILT applications, o
line learning and print-based materials. You will use your excellent customer service skills to maintain a calm, helpful, friendly approach in a busy work environment.
Job roles would include:
-To support students and other library users in the access and use of Library materials, providing guidance in using College IT systems, and demonstrating systems and materials as required.
-To undertake regular roving and shelving duties within the Library.
-Seek to support the delivery of excellent customer service through teamwork and knowledge sharing. Promote the work and vision of the Library and College internally and externally.
-Using and updating of Information Management systems used to support the Library service.
-Cash handing, including the use of tills or RFID machines, to collect monies in respect of fines, lost books and merchandise.
-Contribute to the general Library, clerical and administrative duties as appropriate.
-Support and contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to all aspects of Library.
-Support specialist resources (hardware and software) for the use of learners with special educational needs.
-Assist stock management and distribution in line with Library Policies.
